It’s that time of year again! As the calendar turns toward spring, the focus in our classrooms shifts toward one of the most rewarding parts of the year: AP Exam Prep. With the AP Calculus AB and BC Exams scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026, we have a clear window to help our students synthesize everything they’ve learned from Limits to Lagrange. To support you during this intensive season, Flamingo Math has updated our favorite resources to ensure your students feel confident and prepared.
The 2026 AP Calculus Review Document
Our signature single-page AP Calculus Exam Review document is back and better than ever. This “one-stop shop” resource contains:
- Clickable Links & QR Codes: Easy access to content-specific study tools and digital practice.
- AP Practice Video Links: Direct paths to high-quality review videos from Mark Kiraly and Virge Cornelius, that clarify the most challenging topics.
- A Structured Schedule: This year’s review package includes a suggested schedule beginning the week of April 6th, offering a balanced pace to cover all required units.
Mastering the FRQ: Task Verbs and Model Types
One of the biggest hurdles for Calculus students is not just doing the math, but communicating it. To help with this, we’ve included updated handouts on Task Verbs for FRQs and Free Response Task Model Types. These guides help students decode exactly what the College Board is looking for when they see words like “justify,” “explain,” or “verify.”

5 Strategies for a “Portfolio Approach” to Review
If you’re looking to shake up your review period, consider a 4th Quarter Portfolio approach. This method keeps students engaged and accountable for their own growth. Here are five ways to implement it:
- Take-Home Multiple Choice: Use previous years’ released questions to let students practice pacing in a lower-stakes environment.
- Free Response Focus: Dive deep into specific themes—like Area/Volume or Differential Equations—using resources from the Teaching Calculus community.
- Target Practice: Use short, in-class “target” sessions focused on one specific skill or theorem to build speed and accuracy.
- The MOCK Exam: Host a full-length practice session to help students build the mental stamina required for the actual test day.
- Saturday Review Sessions: These offer a great opportunity for collaborative group work and intensive Q&A outside the normal bell schedule.
Embracing the Digital Shift
As many schools transition toward digital testing formats in 2026, it’s more important than ever to provide students with digital-first review opportunities. Our AP Calculus Digital Escape Room is a fantastic way to review AB topics while getting students comfortable navigating math in a digital interface. There are also many Digital Google Multiple Choice Sets from which to choose.
You’ve Got This!
The road to the AP Exam is a marathon, not a sprint. Remember to celebrate the progress your students have made and trust in the foundation you’ve built all year long. Flamingo Math is here to support you every step of the way.
