Description
This Function Analysis and Accumulation Digital Activity for Google Slidesโข gives your AP Calculus AB and BC students three free-response style question stems on analytical applications of differentiation, function analysis, and accumulation of change. Use it as a class assignment, a distance learning activity, or a group assessment.
Question stems:
- Derivative graph analysis (drag and drop): Students analyze a graph of fโฒ(x) to locate and justify where f is increasing or decreasing, relative extrema, concavity, and points of inflection.
- Particle motion from a velocity graph: Students find the time of greatest speed, acceleration, when the particle moves left or right, intervals where speed decreases, total distance traveled, and the position of the particle at a given time.
- Accumulation function: Given a function defined by an integral, k(x) = โ2 + โซโหฃ f(t) dt, students find where k is increasing, write a tangent line, and find absolute extrema and points of inflection with justifications.
What is included?
- Teacher guide with the Google Slidesโข link (forces a copy to your Google Drive) and tips for sharing with students and using Google Classroom
- Printable paper and pencil version with cut-out rectangles for the first question
- Answer keys with justifications
Students can type answers in text boxes, use online math tools, or insert a photo of their work.
Note: You and your students need Internet access and a free Google account to use the digital activity. Google Classroom is not required.
